Today I will explain how your can discover your hair type so that you can better take care of them. For a long time in my life I didn’t know that there are several categories for the various types of hair, and that they are separated by numbers and letters. I went to learn that when I was in hairdressing school.
The well-known hairdresser Andre Walker, who has won an Emmy Award for his work as a hair stylist for Oprah Winfrey, – in addition to making the famous Halle Berry’s pixie haircut- created a chart explaining the different types of hair and today I I’ll pass on to you what I’ve learned.
The hair are divided into 4 types:
- Kink Curly
Each of these has 3 different textures. Knowing your hair type helps a lot so you can use products that will help your hair and you won’t spend money on products that won’t leave your hair the way you want.
Hair Type 1 – Straight
They can be A, B, or C, and range from thin / fragile to thick.
Type 1A is the thinnest and fragile. Type 1B has a mixture of thin and thick hair and type 1C is thick. The 1C is the hardest to style. You can use a babyliss and after 2 hours it will be flat again. Because they’re thicker, the scalp oil reaches the ends more easily, leaving it with lots of shine. A very common example of hair type 1C is Asian hair (smooth and thick).
