I recently found the magic of Aromatherapy through essential oils. I heard about it many times before but I was never really interested in using or learning about it, until a friend of mine recommended it to me after I mentioned I was having trouble to fall sleep. I tried, and “oh, boy”, I fell in love. They not only helped me with going back to a full relaxed night of sleep, but with being more focused and overall healthier. For that reason I feel I should totally share this with you. So if like me, you are clueless about Essential Oils and its benefits, but are considering giving a try, here are some helpful information:
1. What Are Essential Oils?
Essential oils are extracted from various plants, that are steamed or pressed to capture the compounds that produce the fragrance.
Those unique aromatic compounds will give each essential oil its characteristic essence.
It can take several pounds of a plant to produce a single bottle of essential oil, but once the aromatic chemicals have been extracted, they are combined with a carrier oil to create a ready for use product.
It’s very important the way the oils are made. Essential oils obtained through chemical processes are not considered true essential oils, so I would stay away from those.
2. What is aromatherapy?
Aromatherapy is a holistic healing treatment that uses essential oils for therapeutic benefits, and it should be performed by a professional massage therapist.
3. What Are Essential Oils and Aromatherapy Good For?
Here are some common health problems that essential oils and aromatherapy have been used to treat:
Stress, anxiety and depression
Headaches and migraines
Sleep and insomnia
It boosts immunity
4. Most popular types of Essential oils
There are a vast variety of essential oils types (over 90 types), and each one has its unique scent and health benefit. Here’s a list with the most popular ones:
Peppermint: Boosts energy

5. How to Choose The Right Essential Oils
There are many companies claiming to have pure essential oil. However, I would do a little research before purchasing essential oils in any store. When doing your research, you should definitely look into its purity, quality and reputation.
I personally use Young Living Essential Oils and love them because I know it’s a company I can trust. I’m not associated with them, so I don’t have a direct link for you guys to purchase, but you can definitely check their website at youngliving.com.
Well I hope this can make your Essential Oil journey more safe and enjoyable. See you on the next post.
