7 Morning Routine steps that can change your day and your life

I understand is common for the majority of people to have lots of bad habits when it comes to morning routines. Trust me. I’ve been there.

But since I decided to make some small changes, and consistently started taking these 7 Morning Routine steps, I have more productive days, and my life in general just improved. So, here’s how to improve yours too:

1. Stay away from your smart phone on the first hour

If you use your phone’s alarm to wake you up, turn it off immediately after it buzzes. Just try to resist the urge to check social media or emails. Your mornings should be reserved just for you, so don’t waste your precious time being slaved to technology. You will have plenty of time to check it later. This means even disabling notifications on your home screen so you don’t fall into the temptation of that Facebook or Twitter update.

5. Practice positive affirmations and visualizations

That will for sure, boost your level of energy up. Be intentional. Affirm good things about yourself and your future, Visualize how you want it to be in details. Be grateful for where you are and what you have now. Even if where you are is not where you want to be. There’s always something to be learned. The more grateful and positive you are, the more the universe will understand that this is your frequency and will bring you more things to be grateful for. Just trust and choose your feelings wisely.

6. Drink Water

The benefits of water in general are well known, but experts say that drinking it before your morning cup of coffee could jumpstart your system just when you need it most. It hydrates the body while aiding digestion and metabolism. After being asleep all night, we wake up every day slightly dehydrated, so starting the day with two glasses of water upon waking is a great way to solve that problem.

7. Read a book or listen to a good audio

Reading is a habit that almost all high-performers share. By adopting that as part of your morning routine, you can increase your “you time” in which you can work on your self-improvement and on your goals. Some people prefer audio over text for learning and maybe you’re one of them. If you don’t like reading, experiment with audiobooks. I’m sure this will help you to still benefit from a good book, specially if your time in the morning is a little limited and you have to rush to work or school.
