Yes, Aloe Vera! It is so accessible that sometimes we take it for granted. This magic ingredient will help and transform your Natural Hair journey. The benefits are endless. Since I discovered the benefits that Aloe Vera could bring to my Natural hair and to my health in general, I never stoped using it.
I personally use it in 3 ways: I drink a 100% pure Aloe Vera Gel, I use the plant’s gel to make my own hair mask, and I use a natural Aloe Vera based soothing spray on my hair and scalp. Let me start by telling you how those simple steps can help you rock an incredibly healthy natural hair.
1. It makes your hair growth
The gel inside Aloe Vera contains vitamins and enzymes that have the ability to get rid of the dead skin cells from the scalp, that can cause the hair follicle to clog. Aloe vera contains a chemical that’s similar to keratin which can rejuvenate your hair, making the strands stronger and prevent breakage.
Drinking pure Aloe Vera Gel is the most effective solution to experience the benefits of the plant. But you have to be extra careful if you want to drink it. I definitely don’t recommend you prepare your own Aloe Vera drink at home. That’s because when you do it yourself, it’s pretty much impossible for you to know which part of the plant is safe to consume and which part isn’t.
I drink the Forever Living Aloe Vera Gel every morning on empty stomach and every night before I go to bed. The regular use of this product not only improved my hair’s health, but my health in general. It’s simply amazing and I recommend it.
2. It eliminates Hair Frizz
Using a hair mask made with the Aloe Vera’s gel can literally cure the frizzy in your hair. The treatment can bring back the shine, and it can also make your natural hair’s texture super soft. The Aloe Vera enzymes helps locking in the moisture in your hair, while stimulating the hair follicles as well. Here’s one of my favorites home made hair mask recipes:
Aloe vera, egg and banana mask for dry hair
In a bowl, take two tablespoons of the aloe vera pulp you just took from the plant. Add one egg, one banana and one teaspoon of olive oil (if you’d like you can add one tablespoon of your favorite hair mask). Mix everything using a mixer, a spoon or a fork to form a smooth paste-like consistency.
How to apply:
Wash your hair with a deep cleanse shampoo to open your hair cuticles for a better absorption of the mask. Towel dry the hair and apply the mask on your hair and scalp using a brush. Wear a shower cap and let it rest for about half an hour. Wash with tepid water and then use your favorite conditioner to close cuticle, sealing the moisture in and to cleanse the hair thoroughly as you might notice little white residues from the Aloe. This mask will give your hair a boost of hydration and nutrition.
3. It moistures your dry itchy scalp
Having a dry itchy scalp is a nightmare. Most of the time when our scalp is in this condition, there’s a big chance that dandruff will occur as well. This is where once again aloe vera saved my life. Instead of applying the plant’s gel on my scalp, I figured it was easier and less messy to simply use this amazing Aloe Vera based product called Aloe First. I apply it straight on my scalp and gently massage it in. It helps get rid of the dead skin cells, cleanses the scalp, and balances out the pH, giving your hair the shine you’ve always dreamed of. It can also reduce or even eliminate dandruff altogether!
Since my natural hair needs a lot of moisture, I spray Aloe First every other day on my strands as well. My hair simply loves it!
4. Maintains the pH Balance of the scalp
Out of all of the benefits of aloe vera can bring to your natural hair, pH balance is probably one of the most important. If the pH balance of your hair is not leveled, it can for sure cause some of major hair issues such as dandruff, dryness and breakage. Aloe Vera helps restore your scalp’s pH balance, which promotes healthy and beautiful hair.
Well I hope you guys like and can take advantage of this. See you on the next post.
