Jeans on Jeans

Hello my loves!

I hope you’re all having a great time! We had a super busy weekend in NYC, of course, because it was 4th of July, which is the day the 13 American colonies declared themselves as a nation. This is a very important date here, and Americans all over the country are celebrating it, big time. It is equivalent to our New Year’s Eve in Brazil. Lots of parties, fireworks and of course, family and friends gathering. As a good American that I am, I went out with my hubby to celebrate the holiday.

Anyways, let’s talk about fashion. Last week I put together this look for a fun afternoon with my husband. It was a beautiful early summer day and all we wanted to do was enjoy it! We decided to go to Financial District. This part of the city has beautiful places to explore and has many nice little bars and restaurants. You can also see the SS Peking docked at Pier 15 on the East River.

For this nice day out, I opted to a more basic look, and when we think about basic, first thing that comes to mind is usually jeans, so I couldn’t resist the idea to combine a skinny dark washed jeans with a light denim shirt, and not to forget the basic white tank top.

Many people ask if they should wear jeans with jeans and the answer is: it depends. Avoid using the same tone in all items so you don’t create a very heavy look, like Britney and Justin did a few years ago. If you combine the jeans in different shades and textures like I did here, you won’t be over the top.

What I’m wearing:

  • Skinny Jeans: Forever 21
  • Tank top: Uniqlo
  • Shirt: Velvet Heart
  • Sandal: Steve Madden
  • Sunglasses: Tom Ford

Well, that’s it for today. I’ll leave some tips if you’re or plans to visit Manhattan and wants to avoid the most touristic places in the area:

Bin 220: 220 Front Street (a delicious wine bar) ???

Sophie’s Cuban: 73 New Street (delicious and cheap Cuban food)

Hope you liked it!
